Lockheed Martin Corp., Sunnyvale, Calif., is being awarded a $78,500,000 cost-plus award-fee, cost-plus fixed-fee, firm fixed price contract modification to provide for an in-scope change to Incorporate KI-54 Interface Control Document (ICD) Revision F-Phase 2 impacts. In Phase 2, the Contractor will focus on identifying and mitigate the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) system level impacts associated with the Host Accessory Logic Application Specific Integrated Circuit (HAL ASIC) redesign so that the 4-month HAL ASIC Program Development Review (PDR) slip will not result in a launch delay. A two-phase approach was initiated to evaluate the KI-54 ICD Revision F changes, Phase I focused on the effort to redesign the HAL ASIC. Phase 2 focused on identifying and mitigating the AEHF system level impacts associated with the HAL ASIC redesign, as defined in Phase 1, such that the 4-month HAL ASIC PDR slip will not result in a launch delay. United Defense, L.P., Armament Systems Division, Minneapolis, Minn., is being awarded a $26,679,102 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-99-C-5206) to procure two 5"/62 MK 45 MOD 4 gun mounts to be installed on DDG 105 and DDG 106. The 5"/62 caliber MK 45 MOD 4 is a fully automatic naval gun capable of supporting anti-surface, strike, fire support, and anti-air warfare missions. The new MOD 4 configuration will support the Extended Range Guided Munition. Work will be performed in Minneapolis, Minn. (60%) and Louisville, Ky. This contract contains one option, which if exercised, would bringing the total cumulative value of the contract to $17,650,000. Work will be performed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and is expected to be completed by December 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively negotiated with 116 offers solicited, 10 proposals received and award made to multiple contractors on April 26, 2002. The total contract amount is not to exceed $150,000,000 annually (base year with four option years) with a maximum of $750,000,000 worth of projects to be placed on all multiple contracts over the five-year term.
