CONTRACTS

NAVY

McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $247,649,994 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-priced contract (N00019-04-C-0013) for 14 FY04 T-45 training system airframes. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (52 percent) and Warton, Brough, England (48 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity.

The Boeing Co., Anaheim, Calif., is being awarded a $20,867,145 cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost plus-incentive-fee contract to provide for TRIDENT I and TRIDENT II material and technical support services necessary to conduct inertial equipment modification and repair for the Ships Inertial Navigation System (SINS), Electrostatically Supported Gyro Monitors (ESGM), Electrostatically Supported Gyro Navigators (ESGN) and related components, as well as support the SINS and ESGM/N Iertial Equipment Strategic Program Alterations (SPALTs). Boeing will also provide materials and technical support services for the refurbishment/conversion of EGGNs, software support for the D5 Backfit Navigation Test Program, D5 Backfit East Coast Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine (SSBN) modernization, ESGN Drift Test Station Upgrades, and level of effort technical support for the U.S. and U.K. Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) and Strategic Weapons System Programs (SWS). The resultant contract will also include effort for testing and SPALT development. Work will be performed in Anaheim, Calif., and is expected to be completed in January 2006. Contract funds in the amount of $17,111,540 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00030-04-C-0026).

The John C. Grimberg Co., Inc., Rockville, Md., is being awarded a $12,684,000 firm-fixed-price contract for design and construction of water system improvements at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head. Work will be performed in Indian Head, Md., and is expected to be completed by March 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured as a two-phase design build via the NAVFAC e-solicitation website with eight offers received in Phase I, and three selected to proceed to Phase II. The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N62477-02-C-0115).

Raydon Corp., Daytona Beach Fla., is being awarded a $10,180,744 cost-plus-fixed-fee service contract for manufacturing and development support services for ground system trainers. This effort will provide engineering, development, manufacturing, installation and site support, testing and training for the ground trainers. Work will be performed in Daytona Beach, Fla., and is expected to be completed in March 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Internet, with two proposals received. The Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity. (N00174-04-D-0003)

ARMY

James N. Gray Co., Lexington, Ky., was awarded on Mar. 16, 2004, a $16,842,293 firm-fixed-price contract for renovations to include ventilation, structure, electrical, lighting, mechanical and fire protection for revitalization of Building 3001. Work will be performed at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 10, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 220 bids solicited on July 21, 2003, and eight bids were received. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Tulsa, Okla., is the contracting activity (W912BV-04-C-2002).

United Defense L.P., York, Pa., was awarded on March 17, 2004, a $7,166,164 modification of a firm-fixed-price contract for three Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift Evacuation Systems. Work will be performed in York, Pa., and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 8, 2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-01-C-N030).

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., was awarded on March 17, 2004, a $5,931,450 firm-fixed-price contract for Long Lead Parts for the UH-60M aircraft. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on Aug. 28, 2003. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-04-C-0156).

Construction Engineers Ltd.*, Grand Forks, N.D., was awarded on March 16, 2004, a $5,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for a flood control project. Work will be performed in Grand Forks, N.D., and is expected to be completed by March 29, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 312 bids solicited on Dec. 18, 2003, and six bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul, Minn., is the contracting activity (W912ES-04-C-0005).

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio, was awarded on March 16, 2004, a delivery order amount of $1,130,250 as part of an $8,830,800 firm-fixed-price contract for 165,000 track pads for the Bradley Vehicle. Work will be performed in St. Marys, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by March 16, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited Jan. 6, 2004, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-04-D-N088).
