L3 Communications Integrated Systems, Greenville, Texas, is being awarded a $13,200,000 cost reimbursable contract modification. This contract is for one-year effort in support of the Mission Communication System (MCS) encompassing Air Force unique communication systems, which allows for ground and airborne, secure and non-secure communications between aircraft and ground stations installed on designated executive versions of C-9, C-20 and VC-25A aircraft stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. and in Europe. This contract provides engineering support for configuration management, review of service reports, requests for technical information, preliminary management, review of service reports, requests for technical information, preliminary engineering investigations, field technical representative, system integration lab support and operation, and the requirement to maintain drawings and technical data files. This contract provides for a 24-hour contact for in-flight emergencies, emergency inquiries, on-site support and operation of the test benches located at Andrews Air Force Base including requests for software, firmware, and hardware changes including development and test; engineering feasibility studies, analyses and investigations of Material Deficiency Reports and mishaps; and requirements for technical orders, preliminary engineering change proposals, minor modifications, upgrades and enhancements including design, testing integration, and kit purchases. The locations of performances are the L3 Communications Integrated Systems, Greenville, Texas and Rockwell Collins Inc., Richardson Texas. No funds have been obligated. The order will also include associated spares, technical data and engineering services to support installation planning and preparation for shipboard installation and testing. Work will be performed in Portsmouth, R.I. (33 percent); Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (22 percent); Dallas, Texas (17 percent); Norfolk, Va. (11 percent); San Diego, Calif. (10 percent); Andover, Mass. Whitesell-Green, Inc./W. G. Yates & Son, Biloxi, Miss., is being awarded $6,621,400 for firm-fixed price Task Order 0010 under an indefinite-/indefinite-quantity design build multiple award construction contract for design and construction of Littoral Surveillance System Facility at Naval Station, Pascagoula. The building will be a single-story, steel-framed, masonry-walled building, consisting of spaces for administration, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility with alarm system, electronic and general maintenance shops, classrooms, lockers toilets/showers (both male and female), mobilization box storage. Work will be performed in Pascagoula, Miss., and is expected to be completed by May 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured with 64 proposals solicited, 16 offers received and award made on Sept. 27, 2001. The total contract amount is not to exceed $200,000,000, which includes the base period and four option years. The multiple contractors (four in number) may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the existing contract. Three offers were received for this task order.
