AIR FORCE

General Electric Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, was awarded on Feb. 28, 2005, a $57,822,507 firm fixed price, fixed quantity contract to provide for newly redesigned High Pressure Compressor and High Pressure Turbine assemblies, newly redesigned Aging Engine Upgrade components, initial provisioning spares, and new technical data to support the Service Life Extension Plan and Aging Engine Upgrade initiatives applicable to the F100-GE-100/129 Engine; F-16 aircraft. A requirement responds to the need for 20 more years of operability from the F-16 fleet. This award covers 95 engines. Total funds have been obligated. This work will be complete by June 2006. Solicitation began September 2004 and negotiations were completed February 2005. The Headquarters Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., is the contracting activity (FA8104-05-C-0053).

NAVY

American Bridge/McLean Pier 11 Constructors, a Joint Venture, Williamsburg, Va., is being awarded a $35,000,000 (first increment) firm-fixed price contract for demolition and replacement of Pier 11 at Naval Station, Norfolk. This contract will be incrementally funded with the initial funding today; the total contract amount is not to exceed $91,552,110. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by April 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 98 proposals solicited and three offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N40085-05-C-5000).

iRobot, Burlington, Mass., is being awarded an $18,354,800 firm-fixed-price contract for PackBot Explosive Ordnance Devices and associated spare parts. The PackBot EOD is iRobotss commercial small robotic Explosive Ordnance Disposal EOD system. The contract is being issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2), Unusual and Compelling Urgency. Work will be performed in Burlington, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September 2005. Contract funds in the amount of $18,117,500 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured, with two proposals solicited and two proposals received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity (N00174-05-C-0012).

Progeny Systems Corp., Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $5,413,917 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for engineering services in support of the Digital Data Collection System. The contractor will provide services including data set and database development, software updates, design and development of Temporary Alteration Package (TEMPALT), installation support, maintenance, upgrades, and compatibility testing. Work will be performed in Middletown, R.I. (60 percent); Groton, Conn. (20 percent); Washington, D.C. (20 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 2010. Contract funds in the amount of $300,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport Division, Newport, R.I., is the contracting activity (N66604-05-D-0295).

Foster-Miller Inc., Waltham, Mass., is being awarded a $5,233,076 firm-fixed-price contract, for Talon IIIBs and associated spare parts. The Talon IIIB is Foster-Millers commercial small robotic, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) system. The contract is being issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2), Unusual and Compelling Urgency. Work will be performed in Waltham, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September 2005. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured with two proposals solicited and two proposals received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity (N00174-05-C-0011).
