CONTRACTS

NAVY

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, is being awarded a $223,262,430 cost-plus-award-fee/incentive-fee modification to exercise an option under previously awarded contract (N00024-03-C-2310) for detail design and construction of one Flight 0 Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). The LCS will be a networked, agile, and high-speed surface combatant with versatile war-fighting capabilities, optimized for littoral missions. Work will be performed in Mobile, Ala. (50 percent), Pittsfield, Mass. (33 percent), Bath, Maine (15 percent), and Baltimore, Md. (2 percent), and are expected to be completed by October 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $162,359,000 cost reimbursement modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-02-C-2901) for conversion of the USS Georgia from Ohio Class ballistic missile submarine SSBN 729 to Ohio Class guided missile submarine SSGN 729. The conversion will be conducted concurrently with the ships engineered refueling overhaul being performed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va. (77 percent), Quonset Point, R.I. (16 percent) and Groton, Conn. (7 percent), and is expected to completed by September 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa., is being awarded a $30,200,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-04-C-2104) for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Components. Work will be performed in Pittsburgh, Pa. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Work completion date or additional information is not provided on Naval nuclear propulsion program contracts. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

RAND Corp., Santa Monica, Calif., is being awarded a $210,647,913 cost reimbursement, plus fee-for-need contract to provide for RAND Project Air Force, Research of Air and Space Power. This is a five-year option period, which covers the contract for a ten-year period. At this time, 0 has been obligated. This work will be complete September 2015. Solicitations began August 2005 and one proposal was received. The Air Force District Washington, Rosslyn, Va., is the contracting activity. Lockheed Martin Corp., Orlando, Fla., is being awarded a $9,653,484 firm-fixed price contract modification for action on the C-130 J Training for the first half of fiscal 2006 Contractor Logistic Support, Air Crew Training, Training System Support Center and fiscal 2006 Change Management. The location of performance is Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. No funds have been obligated at this time. This work will be complete September 2006. The Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio is the contracting activity (F33657-00-C-0044/ P00045).

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems, Colorado Springs, Colo., is being awarded a $6,597,380 cost-plus-award-fee contract modification to provide for software development in support of Theater Battle Management Core Systems in accordance with Technical Task Directives. At this time, $4,219,197 has been obligated. This work will be complete January 2006. The Headquarters Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. is the contracting activity (F19628-95-C-0143/P00429).

ARMY

OGara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Co., Fairfield, Ohio, was awarded on Oct. 12, 2005, a $7,622,320 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for pillar and rocker armor overlay kits on the up-armored high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicles. Work will be performed in Fairfield, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on April 10, 2000. The Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-00-C-S019).
