NAVY
Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, Newport News, Virginia, is
being awarded a $81,900,000 modification to previously awarded contract
N00024-93-C-2102 for continued advance planning, design, documentation,
engineering, procurement, shipchecks, fabrication, personnel training and
preliminary shipyard work to prepare for the Complex Overhaul (COH) of the USS
Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), and the extended drydocking Selected Restricted
Availability (SRA) of the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Work will be
performed in Newport News, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by June
and September 1995 respectively. Contract funds in the amount of $24,980,290
will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems
Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
Allied Signal Aerospace - Fluid Systems, Tempe, Arizona, is being awarded a
$32,087,541 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the development of a family of
electric-driven thrusters for ship and off-shore platform use. Work will be
performed in Tempe, Arizona, and is expected to be completed by October 1998.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This
contract was competitively procured under a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and
two offers were received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is
the contracting activity.
Raytheon Company, Equipment Division, Portsmouth, Rhode Island, is being
awarded a $12,071,116 modification to previously awarded contract
N00024-94-C-6211 for the AN/SQS-56 sonar systems for the Turkish navy. Work
will be performed in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and is expected to be completed
by February 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current
fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea
Systems Command, Washington, D.C. , is the contracting activity.
ARMY
Shorts Brothers PLC, Northern Ireland, is being awarded a $36,000,000
modification to a firm fixed price contract for remanufacture of eight SD-360
fixed wing aircraft into C-23B+ aircraft. Work will be performed in
Bridgeport, West Virginia, and is expected to be completed by May 30, 1996.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is
a sole source contract initiated on June 22, 1992. The contracting activity is
the U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command, St. Louis, Missouri
(DAAJ09-93-C-0656).
Science Applications International Corporation, Sierra Vista, Arizona, is
being awarded a $157,305,941 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity time and
materials contract (appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with
each delivery order) for information mission area (IMA) engineering support
services. Nonpersonal, professional and technical services required in IMA
systems engineering, information systems integration, systems analysis,
detailed (design) engineering, test and evaluation, installation, and technical
support services for the U.S. Army Information Systems Command and U.S. Army
Information Systems Engineering Command. Work will be performed in Sierra
Vista, Arizona (50%), National Capitol Region (19%), other continental United
States sites (16%), and sites outside the continental United States (15%), and
is expected to be completed by December 31, 1999. There were 287 bids
solicited on April 29, 1994, and 5 bids received. The contracting activity is
the U.S. Army Communications Command, Fort Huachuca, Arizona
(DAEA32-95-D-0001).
AIR FORCE
Chrysler Technologies Airborne Systems Incorporated, Waco, Texas, is being
awarded a $12,630,500 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract for FY
1995 contractor logistics support for ten C-27A aircraft at Howard Air Force
Base, Panama. Contract is expected to be completed September 1995. Contract
funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Oklahoma City
Air Logistics Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is the contracting
