NAVY

 

                General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., was awarded Oct. 2 a $320,643,960 modification to previously awarded contract for design agent, planning yard, engineering and technical support for active nuclear submarines.  Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., (73 percent), Kings Bay, Ga. (11 percent), Bangor, Wash., (8 percent), Quonset, R.I., (6 percent), and Newport, R.I., (2 percent), and is expected to be completed by October 2010.  Contract funds in the amount of $67,335,232 will expire at the end of the fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-09-C-2101).

 

                Lockheed Martin Corp., Maritime Systems and Sensors (MS2), Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $14,233,822 modification to previously awarded contract for engineering and technical services in support of the Acoustic Rapid Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Insertion System improvement and integration effort program.  Work will be performed in Manassas, Va., (90 precent); and Syracuse, N.Y., (10 precent), and is expected to be completed by December 2010.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-04-C-6207).

 

ARMY

 

                SOS International Ltd., Reston, Va., was awarded on Sep. 29, 2009 a $136,209,581 fixed rate contract for the linguist service in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Work is to be performed in Iraq, (30 percent), and Afghanistan, (50 percent) with an estimated completion date of Sept. 25, 2014.  Bids were solicited via GSA with four offers received.  U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Defense Intelligence Agency AE-2D is the contracting activity (WHHM402-09-F-0658).

 

                Guyco, Inc., Lampasas, Texas, was awarded on Sep. 29, 2009 a $89,243,799 firm-fixed-price design/built contract.  This is a contract for design and construction for renovation of the VOLAR barracks and central energy plan plant at Fort Hood, Texas.  Renovation will include extensive engineering analysis, evaluation and testing and then use of those findings to resolve the mold growth issue, minimize vapor transmission, improve energy efficiency and seal building envelope to provide our troops with living quarters that will last for the next 20 years. Work is to be performed in Fort Hood, Texas, with an estimated completion date of Mar. 30, 2011.                 AECOM Government Services, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, was awarded on Sep. 28, 2009 a $78,849,735 cost plus fixed-fee contract.  This contact is a long term Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity for global maintenance support and service to be performed in Afghanistan. This is for a six month extension to the contract while follow-on is being competed and awarded.                 Boeing Co., Meza, Ariz., was awarded on Sept. 29, 2009 a $76,602,677.83 cost- plus-award-fee, firm-fixed-price contract.  The nature of this proposed action is to award a new Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity type contact for five years for manufacturing development and rngineering support service to support all configuration of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter to include Foreign Military Sales variants.  The MDHC products line consists of, but not limited to, the technology that can be leveraged to/from AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook, A/MH-6m Little Bird, V-22, manned/unmanned aerial vehicles for any other system for which MDHC acts as the original equipment manufacturer.  This contract provides performance based support to the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center for assessment, development and deployment of advanced manufacturing and manufacturing and machining technologies.  Work is to be performed in Mesa, Ariz., with an estimated completion date of Feb. 14, 2015.  Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web with one bid received.
