CONTRACTS
ARMY
Bill Harbert Construction Company, Birmingham, Alabama, is
being awarded a $6,682,000 increment as part of a $6,732,000 firm
fixed price contract for renovations to buildings 4488 and 5681
at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, under the Base Realignment and
Closure program. Work will be performed in Madison County**,
Alabama, and is expected to be completed by August 31, 1997.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. There were 42 bids solicited on April 8, 1996, and two
bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers, Mobile, Alabama (DACA01-96-C-0078).
Fru-Con Construction, Ballwin, Missouri, is being awarded a
$32,146,035 (basic year plus 3 options) firm fixed price contract
for construction of a printing and distribution plant. The work
includes, but is not limited to: asbestos abatement, demolition,
earthwork, drilled foundation caissons (piers), concrete and
bituminous paving, a storm drainage system, waterlines, fencing,
seeding and plantings, landscaping, concrete work, masonry,
structural and miscellaneous metalwork, carpentry, single ply
roofing, glass and glazing, painting, elevators, a compressed air
distribution system, a fire protection system, plumbing, HVAC, a
communication system, a security system and electrical work.
Work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to
be completed by September 30, 1997. Contract funds will not
expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 1,419
bids solicited on March 4, 1996, and seven bids received. The
contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas
City, Missouri (DACA41-96-C-0069).
AIR FORCE
Praxair Incorporated, Danbury, Connecticut, is being awarded
a $13,819,520 firm fixed price contract to provide for liquid
oxygen in support of NASA and Air Force Space Shuttle and rocket
launch programs. The work will be performed at Praxair, Mims,
Florida. Contract is expected to be completed June 2001.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current
fiscal year. There were 22 firms solicited and 3 proposals
received. Solicitation began February 1996; negotiations were
complete April 1996. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly Air
Force Base, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608-96/D-
0621).
Northrop Grumman Corporation, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is
being awarded a $6,017,775 firm fixed price contract to provide
for repair of 75 Band 8 Traveling Wave Tubes applicable to the
AN/ALQ-16A Electronic Countermeasures Systems on the B-1B
aircraft. Contract is expected to be completed May 1997.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received.
Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base,
Georgia, is the contracting activity (F09603-94/D-1056-0004).
Jackson and Tull, Washington, DC, is being awarded a
$20,645,866 cost plus award fee contract to provide for
Integration Support Services, including equipment maintenance and
specialized manpower effort, to support the integration and test
of experimental vehicles, payloads and subsystems being developed
by the Space Experiments and Space Technologies Directorates of
the Phillips Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.
The work will be performed at Jackson and Tull Space and
Aeronautics, Albuquerque, New Mexico Contract is expected to be
completed May 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of
the current fiscal year. There were 79 firms solicited and 8
proposals received. Solicitation began January 1996;
negotiations were complete April 1996. Phillips Laboratory,
Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, is the contracting activity (F29601-
96/C-0013).
NAVY
Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office, Arlington, Virginia, a
team consisting of Bell Helicopter Textron Incorporated, Fort
Worth, Texas, and Helicopters Division of the Boeing Defense and
Space Group, Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, is being awarded a
$404,000,000
advance acquisition contract for the fabrication and delivery of
four MV-22 low-rate-initial-production aircraft. Work will be
performed in Fort Worth, Texas (50%), and Ridley Park,
Pennsylvania (50%), and is expected to be completed by December
1999. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the
current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively
procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Virginia,
is the contracting activity (N00019-96-C-0054)
DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
Basis Petroleum, Inc., Houston, Texas, is being awarded a
$63,086,673 fixed price with economic price adjustment contract
for JP8 aviation turbine fuel under the Foreign Military Sales
(FMS) Program. Work is expected to be completed September 1997.
Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense
Fuel Supply Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia is the contracting
activity (SP0600-96-D-5638).
