ARMY
E-Systems, Incorporated, Dallas, Texas, is being awarded a
$53,266,848 increment as part of a projected $168,977,255 firm
fixed price and cost plus award fee contract for integration of a
high performance computing (HPC) capability, including delivery
of an HPC computational and programming environment, associated
system integration and support infrastructure services, and
training.
Work will be performed at Aberdeen Proving Ground,
Maryland, and is expected to be completed by August 9, 2004.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year.
There were 453 bids solicited on February 1, 1995, and
three bids were received.
The contracting activity is the U.S.
Army Information Systems Selection and Acquisition Activity,
Alexandria, Virginia (DAHC94-96-C-0010).
J. A. Jones Construction Company, Charlotte, North Carolina,
is being awarded a $12,573,170 firm fixed price contract to
replace the existing saltwater intake and distribution facility
with a new facility; for construction and operation of an
approximately 10,000 square foot ground based radar prototype
test facility; and upgrade of fuel containment structures on
various islands.
Work will be performed at the U.S. Army
Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, and is expected to be
completed by October 27, 1997.
Of the total contract funds,
$2,100,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
There were 181 bids solicited on May 20, 1996, and six bids were
received.
The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, Fort Shafter, Hawaii (DACA83-96-C-0032).
Allison Transmission Division, General Motors Corporation,
Indianapolis, Indiana, is being awarded a $16,977,256
modification to a firm fixed price contract for 295 X200-4A
transmissions for use on the M113 Family of Vehicles.
Work will
be performed in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is expected to be
completed by June 30, 1997.
Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year.
This is a sole source
contract initiated on February 12, 1996.
The contracting

Raytheon Electronic System, Portsmouth, Rhode Island, is
being awarded a $41,500,000 maximum price cost-plus-incentive-fee
contract with a not-to-exceed target cost-plus-target-fee for
development of the Block 1C upgrade to the MK 2 submarine combat
control system
(CCS MK2).
Work will be performed in Portsmouth, Rhode Island
(95%) and Waltham, Massachusetts (5%), and is expected to be
completed by April 1999.
Contract funds will
not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Virginia, is being
awarded a $7,567,330 modification to previously awarded contract
N00024-87-C-2046 to provide design and logistics support to the
shipbuilder for the SSN 21 SEAWOLF Submarine Program.
Work will
be performed in Newport News, Virginia, and is expected to be
completed by December 1996.

McDonnell Douglas Corporation, McDonnell Douglas Aerospace,
St. Louis, Missouri,
is being awarded a $45,670,787 advanced acquisition contract for
the procurement of long
lead items for the FY 1997 production procurement of four F/A-18C
and four F/A-18D aircraft weapons systems for the Royal Thailand
Air Force under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program.
Work
will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri (67%) and Hawthorne,
California (33%), and is expected to be completed by September
1999.

AIR FORCE
Raytheon Electronic Systems, Marlborough, Massachusetts, is
being awarded a $619,914,000 indefinite quantity/indefinite
delivery contract to provide for up to 213 Digital Airport
Surveillance Radar (DASR) systems to replace existing radar
systems at civilian and Department of Defense airfields.
This
effort will also provide for site survey, design and preparation,
production, installation and logistics support.
Funds will be
obligated as individual delivery orders are issued.
The work
will be performed at Raytheon Canada, Ltd., Waterloo, Ontario,
Canada (41%) as well as Raytheon Electronic Systems, Marlborough,
Massachusetts. Contract is expected to be completed September
2007.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current
fiscal year.
There were 47 firms solicited; four proposals
received.
Solicitation began October 1995; negotiations were
completed July 1996.
Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air
Force Base, Massachusetts, is the contracting activity (F19628-
96/D-0038).
Evans and Sutherland, Salt Lake City, Utah, is being awarded
a $70,100,000 firm fixed price contract to provide for the Visual
Upgrade Effort for the KC-135 and KC-10 Aircrew Training Systems.
This effort will involve production of visual simulator systems
and database generation systems, and associated logistics support
equipment and training.
The Air Force is also issuing the first
delivery order under this contract for four visual simulation
systems, four database generation systems, and associated support
equipment and training in support of the KC-135 Aircrew Training
System.
Contract is expected to be completed July 2001.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year.
There were 26 firms solicited and 4 proposals received.
Solicitation began October 1995; negotiations were completed July
1996.
Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force
Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-95/D-0010).
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space, Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, is being awarded a $5,100,000 face value increase
to a cost plus award fee contract to provide for design
development, fabrication, test and integration of a two decibel
variable gain attenuator for all six communication channels on
the Defense Satellite Communication System B-8 satellite.
This
effort also includes the same effort for a switch to provide
connectivity between communication channel five and the Gimballed
Dish Antenna on the same satellite.
Contract is expected to be
completed August 1996.

Diversified Services Corporation*, Cleveland, Ohio, is being
awarded an estimated $5,964,468 contract for chocolate cookie,
sugar cookie, yellow corn bread, white cake, yellow cake, sweet
dough, biscuit, roll, cake doughnut, chocolate brownie, and
oatmeal cookie mixes.
