CONTRACTS
NAVY
Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Stratford, Connecticut, is
being awarded a $16,105,619 cost-plus-incentive-fee, firm-fixed-
price contract for non-recurring efforts to design, develop,
fabricate and install communication, navigation, survivability
production kits for (3) VH-60N helicopters. Work will be
performed in Stratford, Connecticut, and is expected to be
completed by July 1999. Contract funds would not have expired at
the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not
competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command,
Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity (N00019-96-C-
0143).
Frequency Engineering Laboratories (FEL), Farmingdale, New
Jersey, is being
awarded a $10,850,000 modification to previously awarded contract
N00024-92-C-6201 for
16 AN/SLQ-25A Torpedo Countermeasure Systems. This contract
combines purchases for
the U.S. Navy (14%), the United Kingdom (31%), and Taiwan (55%)
under the Foreign
Military Sales (FMS) Program. Work will be performed in
Farmingdale, New Jersey (80%)
and the balance to various locations in the U.S. and overseas,
and is expected to be completed
by December 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of
the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command,
Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
ARMY
Allied Signal Aerospace Incorporated Communications Systems,
Baltimore , Maryland was awarded on September 5, 1996 a
$13,997,025 firm fixed price for 396 electronic assemblies, 310
sensor kits, and 321 cable kits for the United States and Japan.
Work will be performed in Baltimore, Maryland, and is expected to
be completed by January 3, 1997. Contracts funds will not expire
at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source
contract initiated on March 15,1996. The contracting activity is
the U.S. Army Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama (DAAH01-
96-C-0337).
The Associated Construction Company, Hartford, Connecticut,
is being awarded a $6,594,545 firm fixed price contract for
construction of a jet fuel storage complex which consists of;
fuel storage tanks with extensive concrete paving and site work,
two small masonry buildings
(approximately 2,000 square feet each) truck unloading and fill
stands, foundations, retaining walls, a retention basin, and all
required utilities and roads. Work will be performed in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is expected to be completed by June
23, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the
current fiscal year. There were 72 bids solicited on November
22, 1995, and 5 bids received. The contracting activity is the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore, Maryland (DACA31-96-C-
0075).
Alpha Building Corporation*, San Antonio, Texas, is being
awarded a $100,000 of $14,700,000 indefinite quantity
construction and services \time and materials contract for Brooks
Army Medical Center (BAMC) Fort Sam Houston San Antonio Texas
and other installations in Bexar County. Approximately 75%
construction and 25% services for a wide variety of trades such
as carpentry, remodeling, HVAC repairs, bathroom rehab, roofing,
concrete, masonry, asbestos and lead base paint abatement,
plumbing, flooring, demolition, fencing, road repair, excavation
and welding.. Work will be performed in San Antonio, Texas (90%)
and (10%) in other installations in Bexar County, and is expected
to be completed by September 6, 1997. Contract funds will not
expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were a broad
agency announcement in the Commerce Business Daily on July 19,
1996, and 4 bids were received. The contracting activity is the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas
(DACA63-96-D0036).
CIVIL WORK - NON MILITARY
Vanguard Services* (a division of Al Johnson Construction
Company), New Jacksonville, Tennessee is being awarded a
$14,496,077 firm fixed price contract to design, construct, test,
and deliver an inland river floating crane. Work will be
performed in New Johnsonville, Tennessee, and is expected to be
completed by August 10, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. There were 16 bids solicited
on December 6, 1996, and 3 bids received. The contracting
activity is the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania (DACW61-96-C-0044).
ICF Kaiser Engineers, Incorporated, Oakland, California, is
being awarded a $500,000 of a not to exceed $260,000,000 (4 base
year with 2 three year option periods contract for Total
Environmental Restoration Contract (TERC). This contract is for
HTRW remediation within the south pacific division boundaries.
Task orders will be issued on a cost reimbursement basis for
specific HTRW remediation related tasks to specific sites. The
contract will include site definition, studies, remedial
investigations. Work will be performed in Oakland, California,
and is expected to be completed by September 4, 2000. Contract
funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
There were 162 bids solicited on May 20, 1996, and 6 bids
received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, Sacramento, California (DACW05-96-D-0011).
