CONTRACTS
ARMY
AM General Corporation, South Bend, Ind., is being awarded a
$5,655,769 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 123
High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle AI (HMMWV A1). Work
will be performed in Mishawaka, Ind., and is expected to be
completed by Nov. 30, 1996. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. There were 30 bids solicited
on Feb. 17, 1989, and one bid received. The U.S. Army Tank
Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting
activity (DAAE07-89-C-0998).
AIR FORCE
Rockwell International Corporation, Anaheim, Calif., was
awarded on Nov. 7, 1996, a $5,671,053 cost plus fixed fee
contract to provide for upgrade of the MK12 and MK12A Flight
Program Constant Tape Software in support of the Minuteman III
missile system. At this time, $1,398,630 of the total amount of
this contract has been obligated. Contract is expected to be
completed April 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end
of the current fiscal year. There was one firm solicited and one
proposal received. Solicitation began April 1996; negotiations
were completed October 1996. Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill
Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity (F42610-96/C-
0063).
Coltec Industries, Incorporated, Euless, Texas, is being
awarded a $6,988,661 firm fixed price contract to provide for 36
Bare Bogie Beam Assemblies applicable to the Main Landing Gear on
the C-5 aircraft. The Bare Bogie Beam Attachment is the
connection between the tire and the landing gear. Contract is
expected to be completed August 1999. Contract funds will not
expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 19
firms solicited and 1 proposal received. Solicitation began
December 1995; negotiations were completed May 1996. Ogden Air
Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting
activity (F42630-96/C-0366).
Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems Company, Akron, Ohio, is
being awarded a $16,850,905 face value increase to a cost plus
award fee contract to provide for non-developmental software and
hardware items for the Space Launch Range System (SLRS), which
comprises the Eastern and Western Ranges. These items are
required to upgrade weather data processing and to operate the
SLRS Integration, Test and Integration Support Facility (SITSIF).
The work will be performed by Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems
Company, Santa Monica, Calif. Contract is expected to be
completed November 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the
end of the current fiscal year. Space and Missile Systems
Center, Los Angeles, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-
95/C-0029, P00013).
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space, Sunnyvale, Calif., is
being awarded a $1,590,084,439 face value increase to a cost plus
award fee contract to provide for Engineering and Manufacturing
Development for the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) program.
This effort includes research, development, delivery of five
Geosynchronous Satellites and a ground system, and production of
two High Elliptical Orbit payloads. SBIRS will provide warning
of ballistic missile attack on the United States, its deployed
forces, and allies. At this time, $65,500,000 of the total
amount of this contract has been obligated. The work will be
performed by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space, Sunnyvale,
Calif. (28%), Aerojet-General Corporation, Azusa, Calif. (30%)
and various other locations. Contract is expected to be
completed September 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the
end of the current fiscal year. Space and Missile Systems
Center, Los Angeles, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-
95/C-0017, P00009).
NAVY
Morrison Knudsen Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio, is being
awarded a $2,343,201 modification to previously awarded contract
N62467-93-D-1106 for environmental remedial action at the Naval
Ordnance Station, Louisville, Ky. The basic contract is not-to-
exceed $300,000,000 which includes the base period and four one-
year options. Work will be performed in Louisville, Ky., and is
expected to be completed by April 1997. Contract funds will not
expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval
Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, North
Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.
Lockheed Martin Corporation, Pittsfield, Mass., is being
awarded a $12,894,570 cost-plus-award-fee contract for TRIDENT II
Strategic Retargeting System (SRS). Work will be performed in
Pittsfield, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September
2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current
fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The
Navy's Strategic Systems Program, Arlington, Va., is the
contracting activity (N00030-97-C-0012).
Newport News Shipbuilding Company, Newport News, Va., is
being awarded a $9,496,283 modification to previously awarded
contract N00024-96-C-2103 for advance planning and material
procurement for the Extended Selected Restricted Availability
(ESRA) of
USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65). Work will be performed in Newport News,
Va., and is expected to be completed by February 1997. Contract
funds in the amount of $7,200,000 will have expired at the end of
the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command,
Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
Newport News Shipbuilding Company, Newport News, Va., is
being awarded a $32,196,081 modification to previously awarded
contract N00024-93-2102 for advance planning and material
procurement for the Extended Drydocking Selected Restricted
Availability (EDSRA) of USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71). Work
will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be
completed by June 1997. Contract funds in the amount of
$29,598,235 will have expired at the end of the current fiscal
year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the
contracting activity.
