ARMY
R.A. Burch Construction Co. Inc., Ramona, Calif., was
awarded on Jan. 27, 1997 a $7,118,000 firm-fixed-price contract
to construct a new Contingency Airborne Reconnaissance System
Deployable Ground Station Facility of approximately 39,100 sq.
feet and a covered technical pad approximately 19,000 sq. feet.
This facility also includes H, V, conditioning system, parking,
site improvements, landscaping, security lighting, and closed
circuit television cameras. Work will be performed at Beale Air
Force Base, Calif., and is expected to be completed by June 30,
1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current
fiscal year. There were 27 bids solicited on Nov. 7, 1996, and
four bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers, Sacramento, Calif. (DACA05-97-C-0011).
Day & Zimmermann Hawthorne Corp., Philadelphia, Pa., is
being awarded a $3,059,204 increment of a $6,471,660 modification
to a $263,804,138 cost-plus-award-fee contract for the operation
and maintenance of a government owned\contractor operated
facility. Work will be performed at the Hawthorne Army Ammunition
Plant, Hawthorne, Nev. and is expected to be completed by Sept.
30, 1997. Of the total contract funds, $3,072,288 will expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source
contract initiated on Dec.19, 1995. The contracting activity is
the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock
Island, Ill.(DAAA09-89-Z-0001).
Holston Defense Corp., Kingsport, Tenn., is being awarded a
$22,119,634 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for
the operation and maintenance of a government owned\contractor
operated facility. Work will be performed at the Holston Army
Ammunition Plant, Kingsport, Tenn. and is expected to be
completed by Dec. 31, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source
contract solicited on Jan. 16, 1997. The contracting activity is
the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command Rock,
Island, Ill.(DAAA09-92-Z-0008).
NAVY
Interstate Electronics Corporation, Anaheim, Calif., is
being awarded a $5,362,196 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for
the development of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Translator
Processor for the Flight Test Support System Missile Tracking
System (FTSS III) and five modification kits which will be used
to upgrade the existing FTSS III systems. Work will be performed
in Anaheim, Calif., and is expected to be completed by December
1999. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the
current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively
procured. The Navy's Strategic Systems Program, Arlington, Va.,
is the contracting activity (N00030-97-C-0007).
Hunt Building Corporation, El Paso, Texas, is being awarded
a $10,256,524 firm-fixed-price contract for the design and
construction of 102 two-bedroom family housing units and an 8,000
square foot community center at Laguna Shores, Naval Air Station,
Corpus Christi, Texas. Work will be performed in Corpus Christi,
Texas, and is expected to be completed by February 1999.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This contract was competitively procured with 65 proposals
solicited and two offers received. The Naval Facilities
Engineering Command, Southern Division, North Charleston, S.C.,
is the contracting activity (N62467-95-C-0948).
C. E. Wylie Construction Company, San Diego, Calif., is
being awarded a $9,178,751 firm-fixed-price contract for the
construction of five three-story bachelor enlisted quarters
comprising 110 living/sleeping units and one single-story
facility consisting of lounges, laundry, and storage at the
Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Work will be performed
in Oceanside, Calif., and is expected to be completed by March
1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current
fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 205
proposals solicited and ten offers received. The Naval
Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego,
Calif., is the contracting activity (N68711-94-C-1591).
PK Contractors, Incorporated,* Spokane, Wash., is being
awarded a $9,426,454 firm-
fixed-price contract for Airfield Pavement Aprons and all other
incidental related work at the Marine Corps Air Station, Camp
Pendleton, Calif. Work will be performed in Oceanside, Calif.,
and is expected to be completed by December 1997. Contract funds
will not expire at the end
of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively
procured with 100 proposals solicited and six offers received.
