CONTRACTS
DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
Caterpillar,, Inc., Mossville, Ill., is being awarded a
$10,217,248 firm fixed price contract for rough terrain container
handlers. Two proposals were solicited and two were received.
Work will be performed in Aurora, Ill., and is expected to be
completed by Feb. 9, 1998. Funds will not expire at the end of
the fiscal year. The Defense Supply Center Columbus, Columbus,
Ohio, is the contracting activity (SP0730-96-D-9029-0002).
ARMY
Maness Environmental Services Inc.*, Long Beach, Calif., is
being awarded a $4,484,059 increment as part of a $13,369,049
(cumulative total includes two options) indefinite
delivery/indefinite quantity contract for removal and disposal of
underground storage tanks (USTs) and transformers, and
installation of above ground storage tanks (AGSTs) for various
sites in southern California. Work will be performed in San
Bernardino, Calif. (15%); March Air Force Base, Riverside, Calif.
(15%); Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. (15%); Port Hueneme, Calif.
(5%); San Diego, Calif. (15%); El Central, Calif. (5%); Los
Alamitos, Calif. (5%); Los Angeles, Calif. (15%); Vandenberg Air
Force Base, Calif. (5%); and San Luis Obispo, Calif. (5%), and is
expected to be completed by March 18, 2000 (base year plus two
option years). Contract funds will not expire at the end of the
current fiscal year. There were 126 bids solicited on April 30,
1996, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles, Calif. (DACA09-97-
D-0006).
NAVY
Metric Construction Company, Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif., is
being awarded a $17,812,000 firm-fixed-price contract for
Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) modernization at Naval Station
Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Work will be
performed in Pearl Harbor, Island of Oahu, Hawaii, and is
expected to be completed by February 1999.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This contract was competitively procured with 47 proposals
solicited and five offers received. The Naval Facilities
Engineering Command, Pacific Division, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is
the contracting activity (N62742-95-C-1303).
Northrop Grumman Corp., Military Aircraft Systems Div., El
Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $23,457,917 modification to
previously awarded contract N00019-96-C-0132 to exercise an
option for Subsonic Subscale Aerial Target (BQM-74E), Mission
Essential Air Launch Kits, and technical data. Work will be
performed in El Segundo, Calif. (20%), and Hawthorne, Calif.
(80%), and is expected to be completed by April 1999. Contract
funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The
Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting
activity.
Hughes Aircraft Co., Naval and Maritime Systems Div.,
Fullerton, Calif., is being awarded a $6,118,600 modification to
previously awarded contract N00024-96-C-5407 for additional
engineering and manufacturing support to the MK-1 Ship Self
Defense System. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and
is expected to be completed by April 1998. Contract funds will
not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea
Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
AIR FORCE
Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Inc., Owego, N.Y., is being
awarded a $5,543,332 face value increase to a firm fixed price
contract to provide for upgrade of the radar on 24 MC-130H
aircraft. Contract is expected to be completed July 1998.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio,
is the contracting activity (F33657-83/C-0264, P00295).
Boeing Defense and Space Group, Seattle, Wash., is being
awarded a $10,157,367 face value increase to a cost plus fixed
fee contract to provide for 767 Airborne Warning and Control
System (AWACS)aircraft. The work will be performed at
Telephonics, Farmingdale, N.Y. Contract is expected to be
completed March 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end
of the current fiscal year. This effort supports foreign
military sales to Japan. Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB,
Mass., is the contracting activity (F19628-94/C-0004, P00027).
