CONTRACTS

ARMY

Halifax Corp.*, Alexandria, Va., was awarded on March 21, 1997, a delivery order amount of $6,000,000 as part of a $29,500,000 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide telecommunications services, engineering and installation for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) equipment/systems/networks within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside of the continental United States (OCONUS). Work will be performed in Cascade, Md. (25%); Alexandria, Va. (25%); Fayetteville, N.C. (10%), and at various CONUS and OCONUS locations (40%), and is expected to be completed by March 20, 2002. Of the total contract funds, $250,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 91 bids solicited on Dec. 19, 1996, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-97-D-3001).

Systems & Electronics Inc., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $35,623,500 modification to a firm fixed price contract to exercise the option for 187 Heavy Equipment Transporter System (HETS) Semitrailers (M1000). Work will be performed in West Plains**, Mo., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Sept. 7, 1995. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-96-C-X100).

Pocal Industries Inc., Scranton, Pa., is being awarded a $43,710,565 firm fixed price contract to manufacture 171,892 M931 Full Range Practice Cartridges. Work will be performed at Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant, Neb. (79%); and Scranton, Pa. (21%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 17, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Aug. 28, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAE30-97-C-1037).

NAVY

Applied Measurement Systems, Inc., Hollywood, Fla., is being awarded a $22,688,496 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite- delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for engineering and technical support services for submarine and surface ship acoustical trials. Work will be performed in Hollywood, Fla. (62%), Bethesda, Md. (28%), and aboard ships at sea (10%), and is expected to be completed by March 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 57 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Bethesda, Md., is the contracting activity (N00167-97-D-0022).

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $39,098,796 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-96- C-2100 to add 640,000 manhours of engineering, design and related efforts, including design transfer, to support incorporation of the other shipbuilder, Newport News Shipbuilding, in the New Attack Submarine Program and future construction efforts. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Hughes Missile Systems Co., Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $7,000,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00019- 94-C-0257 for 20 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles Remanufacture of Block II to Block III Submarine Torpedo Tube Launch Missiles. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Ultra Electronics, Cheltenham, England, is being awarded a $5,682,795 firm-fixed- price contract to procure 155 High Pressure Pure Air Generator (Hi-PPAG) systems which are utilized on the LAU-7 missile launcher to provide continuous cooling to the AIM-9 Sidewinder missile=s seeker head during ground test and flight operations. Work will be performed in Cheltenham, England, and is expected to be completed by April 1998. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00019-97-C-0094).

McDonnell Douglas Corp., McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded an $11,714,118 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-95-C-0164 for support equipment for the T-45 Training System (T-45TS). Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo., and is expected to be completed by July 1999. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

AV Builder Corp., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $8,130,502 firm fixed price contract to provide for construction of 70 units of military family housing at Travis AFB, Calif. The work will be performed at Travis AFB, Calif. Contract is expected to be completed January 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 107 firms solicited and 6 proposals received. Solicitation began November 1996; negotiations were completed February 1997. Human Systems Center, Brooks AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41622-97/C-0016).

Billy E. Burnett, Inc., Tuscaloosa, Ala., is being awarded a $6,556,390 firm fixed price contract to provide for major improvements and repairs to 112 units of Military Family Housing at Eglin AFB, Fla. The work will be performed at Eglin AFB, Fla. Contract is expected to be completed April 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 90 firms solicited and 6 proposals received. Solicitation began January 1997; negotiations were completed February 1997. Air Force Development Test Center, Eglin AFB, Fla., is the contracting activity (F08651-97/C-0074). CORRECTION: On March 20, we announced that Boeing Defense and Space Group, Seattle, Wash., was being awarded a $10,157,367 face value increase to a cost plus fixed fee contract. The description of the reason for the contract should have read: to provide for incorporation of Identification Friend of For (IFF) and radar sustainment modifications into four Boeing 767 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS)aircraft.
