Army Sgt. 1st Class Daryl L. Szarenski
Free Pistol

A native of Saginaw, Mich., Szarenski is an international pistol shooter with the Army Marksmanship Unit. He enlisted in the Army in October 1991 and was assigned to the AMU after completing basic and infantry training. The accomplished shooter started in 1979 and has numerous marksmanship awards, including qualifying for the 2008 Olympic team in men's 50-meter free pistol, winning a silver medal in the 2007 Pan American Games, being named air pistol national champion in 2005 and winning a gold medal in the 2003 Pan American Games in free pistol.
