Rio 2011 - International Military Games

Friendship Through Sport

U.S. military athletes will be joining athletes from 108 other countries in Rio de Janeiro this month to compete in a variety of sporting events at the 5th CISM Military World Games. The games are hosted by the Conseil International du Sport Militaire, known as CISM, or International Military Sports Counsel. The organization's goal is to contribute to world peace by uniting armed forces from foreign countries through sports. The organization's motto is "friendship through sport."
