| President George W. Bush receives a briefing from U.S. Coast Guard Capt.
James D. Bjostad on the status of search and rescue operations staged out of
the U.S. Coast Guard base in Mobile, Ala., on Sept. 2, 2005. The president
arrived at the Coast Guard Aviation Training Center in Mobile and spoke with
state and federal officials prior to departing on a helicopter flight to
further assess the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. Bjostad is the
incident commander for the Coast Guard response in Mississippi, Alabama, and
