CUTTING A FIRE LINE
Marissa Halbeisen, a firefighter from the Hot Shots, a specialized team of firefighters from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., helps cut and clear a fire line in the Peregrine neighborhood of Colorado Springs, Colo., June 28, 2012. By cutting the line, her team helped battle several fires in Waldo Canyon, where flames have claimed 18,500 acres and burned more than 300 homes.
