Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Rear Adm. (Lower Half) Anderson B. Holderby, Jr., Chaplain Corps, U.S. Navy, for appointment as chief of chaplains and appointment to the grade of rear admiral (upper half). Holderby is currently serving as acting chief of chaplains, Arlington, Va.

Holderby was born April 13, 1935 in Norfolk, Va.
