MEMORANDUM FOR CORRESPONDENTS

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated the following:
Army Brig. Gen. Anders B. Aadland for promotion to the grade of major general. Aadland is currently assigned as the director, Officer Personnel Management Directorate, United States Total Army Personnel Command, Alexandria, Va.
Army Brig. Gen. John T.D. Casey for promotion to the grade of major general. Case is currently assigned as the deputy chief of staff for operations, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.
Army Brig. Gen. Hans A. Van Winkle for promotion to the grade of major general. Van Winkle is currently assigned as the director of civil works, Office of the Chief of Engineers, United States Army, Washington, D.C.
