Two Soldiers Die in Iraq; Earlier Casualty Identified

WASHINGTON, Dec. 30, 2005 Two U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, and Defense Department officials announced the identity of a soldier killed in earlier action.
A Task Force Baghdad soldier died today when a roadside bomb struck his patrol vehicle in southern Baghdad, and a soldier assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, died of wounds suffered from enemy small-arms fire Dec. 29 in Fallujah.
The names of the soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Defense officials announced the identity of a soldier who was killed Dec. 28 supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom:
- Spc. Aaron M. Forbes, 24, of Oak Island, N.C., died in Baghdad when a roadside bomb detonated near his Humvee. Forbes was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
