Two Marines, Soldier Killed in Iraq

WASHINGTON, Nov. 26, 2006 – Two Marines and a soldier were killed in separate incidents in Iraq yesterday, Multinational Force Iraq officials announced. Two other soldiers were injured.

A Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5 and another Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7 died from wounds sustained while operating in Anbar province, officials said.

In addition, a roadside bomb killed a Task Force Lightning soldier assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, in Diyala province.

Two other soldiers were wounded when the bomb detonated near their vehicle as they were conducting operations. They were transported to coalition forces' medical treatment facilities.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of the families, officials said.
