WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 1996 – DoD will mobilize over 300 soldiers from 13 Army Reserve units and one Pennsylvania National Guard unit in January and February to replace units supporting Operation Joint Endeavor. These units will deploy to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Croatia and other areas in Europe.

These troops will replace similar units currently deployed. By law, reserve component service members mobilized can serve no more than 270 days.

Six units will mobilize by Jan. 3. Units include the 11th Psychological Operations Battalion and 305th Psychological Operations Company, both of Upper Marlboro, Md. Also mobilizing are the 14th Psychological Operations Battalion from Mountain View, Calif.; the 303rd Psychological Operations Company from Pittsburgh; the 312th Psychological Operations Company from Washington, D.C. and the 301st Psychological Operations Company from San Diego.

Joining these six units are six mobilizing later in January. They include the 312th, 316th and 841st Adjutant General Postal companies and the 943rd Adjutant General Replacement Company, all of Tulsa, Okla. DoD is also mobilizing the Pennsylvania Guard's 213th Area Support Group of Allentown, and the 657th Movement Control Air Terminal Team of Belleville, Ill.

To support deployment efforts, DoD is also sending two reserve units to Fort Benning, Ga. They are the 326th Replacement Battalion and 855th Replacement Company, both of Indianapolis.

Throughout 1996, more than 8,800 reserve component personnel have supported Joint Endeavor from bases in Bosnia, Croatia, the United States, Hungary, Germany, Italy and elsewhere in Europe. Officials said the new deployments will not increase the number of personnel authorized to support Bosnia operations.
