Marine Sprint A U.S. Marine dashes through Japanese machine gun fire while crossing Okinawa’s Awacha Draw, known as "Death Valley" by the men fighting there. Marines suffered more than 125 casualties in eight hours crossing the valley on May 10, 1945.
