GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. William P. Hallin, United
States Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant
general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, Logistics,
Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Hallin is currently assigned as deputy director, Materiel
Management, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va.
Hallin was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Newington, Conn.
