GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Douglas D. Buchholz, United
States Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general
and assignment as director for Command, Control, Communications,
and Computers (C4) Systems, J-6, The Joint Staff .
Since July
1994, he has served as the commanding general, United States Army
Signal Center and Fort Gordon/commandant, United States Army
Signal School, Fort Gordon, Ga.
Buchholz was born on Feb. 19, 1946, in Roseville, Calif.
