The Department of Defense's newest Internet site, Reserve
Affairs WEB went on line today. In a joint effort with
DefenseLINK, DoD Public Affairs and the World Wide Web service,
Reserve Affairs Web makes information about the National Guard
and Reserve components available on the Internet.
The service will be available to all web browsers and is
accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The address is
accessed at http://dod.mil/ra.
We are very pleased to be going on-line with the Reserve
Affairs WEB, said Deborah R. Lee, Assistant Secretary of Defense
for Reserve Affairs. Our intent is to put information on the
Internet that will provide Internet users with a glimpse of how
the Reserve components are involved in the very dynamic post-Cold
War world. Users will also be able to access the publications
that lay out the goals for the Reserve components that we have
established in Reserve Affairs.
Information available to Internet users on Reserve Affairs
WEB will include background information on the Reserve
components, publications of the Office of the Assistant
Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs and major speeches of
Deborah R. Lee.
The Reserve components consist of the Army National Guard,
the Army Reserve, the Naval Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, the
Air National Guard, the Air Force Reserve and the Coast Guard
Reserve.
