General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Army Lt. Gen. Martin E. Dempsey for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Dempsey is currently serving as commander, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq. |
