Flag Officer Announcements

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Gerald R. Beaman has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Beaman is currently serving as commander, Strike Force Training Pacific, San Diego, Calif.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Mark S. Boensel has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Boensel is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Southeast, Jacksonville, Fla.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Dan W. Davenport has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Davenport is currently serving as director, Assessment Division, N81, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Edwards H. Deets III has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Deets is currently serving as vice commander, Naval Network Warfare Command, Norfolk, Va.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) William E. Gortney has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Gortney is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Ten, Norfolk, Va.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Victor G. Guillory has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Guillory is currently serving as deputy director, Surface Warfare Division, N86B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Cecil E. Haney has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Haney is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Two, Groton, Conn.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Harry B. Harris, Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.   Harris is currently serving as commander, Joint Task Force Guantanamo, U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
  
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Joseph D. Kernan has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Kernan is currently serving as deputy commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, San Diego, Calif.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael A. Lefever has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Lefever is currently serving as director, Military Personnel Plans and Policy Division, N13, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Charles J. Leidig has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Leidig is currently serving as director, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Sixth Fleet, Plans and Operations/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/commander, Submarines Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight, Naples, Italy.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Archer M. Macy Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Macy is currently serving as commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Washington, D.C.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Charles W. Martoglio has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Martoglio is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Seven, San Diego, Calif.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Richard O'Hanlon has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  O'Hanlon is currently serving as commander, Strike Force Training Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Scott R. Van Buskirk has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Van Buskirk is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Nine, Everett, Wash.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael C. Vitale has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Vitale is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Two, Norfolk, Va.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Jeffrey A. Wieringa has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.   Wieringa is currently serving as director, Navy International Programs Office, Office of the Secretary of the Navy, Washington, D.C.
 
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Richard B. Wren has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Wren is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Five, Yokosuka, Japan.
