Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Vice Adm. Eric T. Olson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Olson is currently serving as deputy commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
Army Chaplain Brig. Gen. Douglas L. Carver has been nominated for appointment to the grade of major general and assignment as chief of chaplains, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Carver is currently serving as deputy chief of chaplains, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Loree K. Sutton has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Sutton is currently serving as commander, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas.
