General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Richard P. Zahner for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy under secretary of defense for intelligence, intelligence and warfighting support, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Washington, D.C. Zahner is currently serving as the director, Signals Intelligence Directorate, National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Md. |
