General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated:
Air Force Maj Gen. William L. Shelton for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Fourteenth Air Force (Air Forces Strategic-Space) Air Force Space Command, and commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg AFB, Calif. Shelton is currently serving as commander, Fourteenth Air Force, Air Force Space Command, and commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg AFB, Calif. |
