General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard Y. Newton III for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, manpower and personnel, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Newton is currently serving as assistant deputy chief of staff, air, space and information operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. |
