GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Major General David L. Vesely, United
States Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant
general with assignment as Assistant Vice Chief of Staff, United
States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. General Vesely is
currently assigned as Commander, Fourteenth Air Force, Air Force
Space Command, and Component Commander, United States Air Force
Space Operations, United States Space Command, Vandenberg Air
Force Base, California.
General Vesely was born November 1, 1943, in Detroit,
Michigan.
