PREDATOR UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE CRASHES DURING TAKEOFF
A DoD-owned Predator UAV crashed today at 9:40 a.m. (PST)
while taking off from General Atomics's aeronautical systems
incorporated flight facility, El Mirage, Calif. General Atomics
was conducting a flight check of the vehicle. The air vehicle
came to rest within the airfield boundaries and no injuries to
personnel or damage to property were reported. The cause of the
crash is not yet known, but an investigation by the UAV Joint
Program Office is underway to determine the cause and the extent
of damage to the air vehicle as well as its associated on-board
