GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Lt. Gen. George T. Babbitt Jr., U.S.
Air Force, for appointment to the grade of general with
assignment as commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-
Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Babbitt is currently assigned as
director, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va.
Babbitt was born June 22, 1942, in Bremerton, Wash.
