GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
he has approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. Paul E. Stein, U. S.
Air Force, on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general
effective Sept. 1, 1997. Stein is currently serving as the
superintendent,
U. S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Stein was born Aug. 30, 1944, in Monroe, La.
