General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. David M. Rodriguez for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as senior military assistant to the secretary of Defense, Washington, DC. Rodriguez is currently serving as commanding general, 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
