General Officer Announcements

            Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced yesterday that the President made the following nominations:
 
            Marine Corps Col. Juan G. Ayala has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Ayala is currently serving as the commander, 2d Marine Logistics Group in Camp Lejeune, N.C.
 
            Marine Corps Col. William M. Faulkner has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Faulkner is currently serving as the commander, 3d Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Gregg A. Sturdevant has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Sturdevant is currently serving as associate to the deputy commander, plans, policies, and operations, Headquarters, Marine Corps in Washington, D.C.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Ronald F. Baczkowski has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Baczkowski is currently serving as the director, Tactical Training and Exercise Group in Twentynine Palms, Calif.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Walter L. Miller has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Miller is currently serving as the assistant chief of staff, U.S. European Command in Germany.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Glenn M. Walters has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Walters is currently serving as the head, aviation weapons systems requirements in Washington, D.C.
 
            Marine Corps Col. William B. Crowe has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Crowe is currently serving as the commanding officer, Marine Barracks Washington, D.C.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Michael G. Dana has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Dana is currently serving as chief of staff, J-5, U.S. European Command in Germany.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Joseph L. Osterman has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Osterman is currently serving as the director, Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Va.
 
            Marine Corps Col. Christopher S. Owens has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Owens is currently serving as the head, Concepts Department, Joint Operations, U.S. Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Va.
