GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Richard B. Myers, U. S. Air
Force, for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as
commander, Pacific Air Forces; air component commander for U. S.
Pacific Command; and executive director, Pacific Air Combat
Operations Staff, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
Myers is
currently assigned as the ssistant to the Chairman of the Joint
Chiefs of Staff, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Myers was born March 1, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo .
