GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. John B. Hall Jr., U. S. Air
Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with
assignment as the commander, U. S. Forces Japan; and commander,
Fifth Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Yokota Air Base, Japan.
General Hall is currently assigned as the director, plans,
Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
Hall was born Aug. 9, 1944, in New Bedford, Mass.
