FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today
that the President has nominated Rear Adm. Henry C. Giffin III,
U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral with
assignment as commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet
in Norfolk, Va. He is currently serving as deputy and chief of
staff, commander in chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet in Norfolk, Va.
Giffin was born Nov. 16, 1945 in Bronxville, N.Y.
