General Officer Assignments

   

            The Air Force chief of staff announces the assignment of the following general officers:

 

            Maj. Gen. Floyd L. Carpenter, vice commander, Eighth Air Force, Air Combat Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La., to commander, Eighth Air Force, Air Combat Command, and Joint Functional Component Commander for Space and Global Strike, U. S. Strategic Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.

           

            Maj. Gen. Mark T. Matthews, director, requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va., to deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and assessment, Multi-National Force – Iraq, U. S. Central Command, Baghdad, Iraq.

 

            Maj. Gen. William A. Chambers, director, air and space operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to vice commander, U. S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

 

            Maj. Gen. Jack B. Egginton, vice commander, Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, RAF Mildenhall, U.K, to director, air and space operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

 

            Maj. Gen. Mark R. Zamzow, special assistant to the commander, Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, RAF Mildenhall, U.K., to vice commander, Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, RAF Mildenhall, U.K.

 

            Maj. Gen Alfred K. Flowers, commander, Second Air Force, Air Education and Training Command, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., to deputy assistant secretary for budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

            Brig. Gen. Mary K.
