                The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

                Spc. Herberth A. Berrios-Campos, 21, of Bealeton, Va., died July 24 in Salman Pak, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.  He was assigned to the 1^st Battalion 505^th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3^rd Brigade Combat Team, 82^nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

                The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
