General Officer Announcements
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Lt. Gen. John D. Gardner has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, U.S. European Command, Germany. Gardner is currently serving as the deputy commander, Allied Land Component Command, Heidelberg, Germany.
Army Maj. Gen. Jeffrey J. Schloesser has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany. Schloesser is currently serving as the commanding general, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)/Combined Joint Task Force-76, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. |
