General Officer Announcements
The Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Frank A. Panter Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as the deputy commandant for installations and logistics. Panter is currently serving as the assistant chief of staff, C/J-5, UNC/CFC/U.S. Forces Korea, and commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Korea in Seoul, Korea.
Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Thomas D. Waldhauser has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as the deputy commandant for plans, policies, and operations, Headquarters Marine Corps. Waldhauser is currently serving as the assistant deputy commandant for plans, policies, and operations, Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. |
