Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Maj. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Bostick is currently serving as special assistant to the chief of staff, Army, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Maj. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Caslen is currently serving as commanding general, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii
Army Brig. Gen. Steven W. Smith has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Smith is currently serving as chief cyber officer, Office of the Chief Information Officer/G-6, Washington, D.C.
Army Brig. Gen. Mary A. Legere has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Legere is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.
