General Officer Assignment
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Gen. Claude R. Kehler, for re-appointment to the rank of general with assignment as commander, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Kehler is currently serving as commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
