GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. William J. Bolt, U.S. Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, Accessions and Initial Entry Training, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va.
Bolt is currently serving as the commanding general, United States Army Training Center and Fort Jackson, Fort Jackson, S.C.
Bolt was born on May 31, 1940, in Cumberland, Md.
