General Officer Announcements

              The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

              Brig. Gen. Paul E. Funk II, deputy commanding general, Combined Arms Center for Training, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Leavenworth, Kan., to deputy commanding general, 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, Fort Riley, Kan.

              Brig. Gen. Ricky D. Gibbs, deputy commanding general (maneuver), 1st Infantry Division/deputy commanding general (maneuver), U.S. Division-South, Operation New Dawn, Iraq, to deputy commanding general, V Corps, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army.

              Brig. Gen. David L. Mann, commanding general, 32d Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas, to commanding general, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Fort Knox, Ky.

              Brig. Gen. Austin S. Miller, commander, Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command - Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to director of operations, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

              Brig. Gen. John G. Rossi, effects coordinator, III Corps/J-33, U.S. Forces-Iraq, Operation New Dawn, Iraq, to commanding general, 32d Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas.
